Design Ethos:
The best buildings reveal the truth; True to place, True structure, and True construction methods. Sexton Studio creates unapologetically bold and experiential architecture that’s based on environmental context.

What We Do:
Custom design in every sense of the word. We are experts in architecture, landscape architecture, planning, and development. Our iterative approach analyzes the potential of development, then fuses architecture to the site through thoughtful and holistic design. We offer turn-key design, permitting, and project management services.

Who we are:
Micah grew up in a Colorado ghost town that was founded by prospectors scrying a crystal ball in search of gold. Timber framed stamp mills, craftsmanship of the forefathers, and the breathtaking beauty of the American West inspire and instill a strong sense of place within him. Micah was educated by his favorite architect of our time, Jim Cutler, and carries his design philosophy forward for True architecture. Prior, he designed custom residences with renowned Architects Lake Flato, and was an instrumental contributor to the growth and establishment of a small 3-person architecture firm in Boulder. Micah is a proud Evergreen resident and is currently rebuilding a small cabin with his wife Emily, and Border Collie named Panda.

About Our Process:
Every project is of a place. The first task is to always study the land, understand it, and then react to it through iteration. Micah has the gift of visualization and wields the ability to model in 3D in real-time. Clients are invited to participate in the design process, to tailor the design, and to engage one on one as he crafts their future space. We partner with other masters of their craft, establish teams, and facilitate educated round table discussions to solve the inherent complexities of design and construction. Once a design direction is defined, we bridge the gap from concept to construction through clear easy to understand technical drawings. We build trust with builders at the job site by actively problem-solving in the field, and by providing real-time updates to our living set of construction drawings. The process efficiencies we’ve developed allow us to prioritize our time on high caliber design. The result is turn-key True Architecture.
